Hi Everyone,
Don't worry I have not turned to a movie critic at all :-). But sometimes watching a movie is a journey and I was on this journey very recently.
So there were two movies which were on theatres at the same time, one was "Jug Jug Jeeyo" and another was "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect" and I am a kind of girl wanted to go for something romantic, light hearted comedy and on the other hand, my husband is someone who love to watch something really reasonable.
So we were both arguing over which movie we need to watch and ended up not going for any. But when both movies got released over web platform, I first watch "Jug Jug Jeeyo" and it was quite disappointing. So my husband again insisted me to join him for a watch of "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect" over weekends.
And yes this movie is a journey. It is based on the life of Nambi Naraynan, an indian aeroscope engineer, who worked for the ISRO and contributed significantly to Indian space program by developing the Vikas Rocket Engine.
I connected with each and every incident of his life shown in movie and during/after the movie, I just kept on googling about his life or incidents over wikipedia and from other sources and yes 99%, everything was correct and close to facts. I am taking 1% as for the writer/director freedom to represent things.
That night I couldn't really sleep and keep on thinking about what has happened to him. Was it right? (Don't expect me to mention details about him, either go through wikipedia or watch the movie). It is worth spending time with Nambi Narayanan (a great scientist and a partriot) through movie and listen his story in his own words.
In today's world, there is an adult content available everywhere ( I will include a kissing scene also an adult content as still our Indian culture is not that open that we can watch a kiss scene in front of our parents). I forgot the last movie when me and my family (includes my in laws) watch it together or if we watch, it gives me anxiety if coming forth there can be a scene which will make me really uncomfortable in front of my family, How R. Madhavan put this movie with so delicacy and honesty and shown the complete truth of Nambi Narayanan, I really appreciate.
I suggest please watch this film with your family, parents, kids and enjoy something which is realistic and impact your life in a good way.
These are the real heroes of our country and we should know about them.
I am putting a picture of him, so If in case we are fortunate to see him one day, we can thank him enough for what he has done for our country and apologize at the same time for what he had to gone through in return.
If I will meet Nambi Sir one day I will just say "I am sorry. we don't deserve you enough"
Lastly, Thank me in case you are also in love of this movie or you watched this movie after my recommendation.
See you until I got something to write upon.
Much love.
~Shivani
